Hallmark Moments

As our referral day draws closer, Mike and I have had numerous conversations about "the moment that changes our lives forever." We've talked about exchanging gifts, cards, or sharing a romantic dinner. I'm not sure if any of these will really capture the moment. Nonetheless, I found myself in Hallmark overwhelmed with tears when I read (to the family of a newborn): "There are so many people who love you, and we don't even know who you are."

This is so true! Family and friends have embraced our daughter, yet for right now she's still half a world away.

Unconditional love: "Love freely given expecting nothing in return . . . " If you're reading this, you've already given us that very precious gift - and we're exceedingly thankful!

Come, join the journey

Friends, We are so glad you are here with us, as together we travel this road to China. The concept behind "Many hearts, one family" is so true as we reflect on the collaboration of such a loving community that has brought us to being a forever family with our daughter. We want to invite you to be part of this electronic relationship as we await our referral. As we quickly found out adoption folk speak a language all their own. Here is a quick vocabulary list to help get you started:

America World - Our adoption agency
Dossier- the mounds of paperwork that we completed
CCAA- China Center American Adoption
Log in Date- the date the CCAA approved us to be parents, our date is May 16,2006
Referral- the date we receive a phone call saying "you have been matched with a baby"
Come, join the journey.....
